This is the first time I actually traveled overseas on such short notice. Working at a travel agency does have its perks, as my colleague was kind enough to sell me his travel voucher at a steal. Initially,it was supposed to be a one night night stay at Sunway Resort and Spa, a luxurious safari themed resort hotel in Bandar gsc aeon bandaraya melaka Sunway, but I decided to book an extension night in Kuala Lumpur to allow myself more time to explore the city.
The trip turned out to be very smooth, which I am really thankful for, as Kuala Lumpur isn’t exactly a safe place. I was lucky enough to get a free upgrade to Executive gsc aeon bandaraya melaka Coach on my Singapore to Kuala Lumpur leg of the journey, where I slept soundly and fully exploited(I mean, enjoy) the massage facilities of the leather seats and entertainment channels that the premium coach was equipped with. Time flies and soon I found myself at the grand hotel lobby of the resort hotel.
The lobby was perfumed with a green tea fragrance, which was heavenly. I checked in and got a room with a theme park view on the 18th floor. The room was incredibly spacious and worthy of its five stars rating- think Grohe bath fittings, 2 comfy super single beds with oversized pillows…the whole room was very airy and spacious. The toiletries have that addictive green tea scent too and the bathtub was heavenly to have a warm soak in. My Burt’s Bees bath salt sachet that I bought from the nearby Sunway Pyramid shopping mall came in handy after a long day.
I lazed around the hotel for a while before heading to the mall for a late lunch. Lunch was at Nandos at Sunway Pyramid, which is famous for its peri-peri chicken. I chose a spice level of mild which have a nice lemony gsc aeon bandaraya melaka zest. As I was feeling an urge to be healthy(that didn’t last long), I chose creamed spinach and sweet potato mash as sides, and the latter have a caramelized goodness that was very addictive.Since the pricing was in Ringgit it is comparatively much more affordable than the Nandos outlets gsc aeon bandaraya melaka in Singapore,so I treated everything as half priced and gorged myself with delicious food.
I suppose it is worthy of being called a pyramid, as the shops soon look like a maze. Not exactly a bad thing, gsc aeon bandaraya melaka as the range of shops is so much better than Singapore. I spotted a DC comic stall one floor below the cinema level, which is chock full of comic memorabilia and collectibles. The changing rooms have glossy doors featuring gsc aeon bandaraya melaka Superman and Wonderwoman, and the centerpiece is a display of a vintage Batmobile and other interesting figurines. gsc aeon bandaraya melaka Prices tend to be terribly inflated though,I spied a small Batman badge that costs RM35 that looks pretty ordinary to me. The store adjacent to it sells hipster clothing and seem to have a sale going on, so I got a bright yellow bondage skirt at 70% discount which works out to be merely five Sing dollars, along with some cool shoes.
Somehow managed to stop myself momentarily from shopping,as I got distracted by the snacks around the mall.I had a small salted green bean pastry for RM0.35 and felt embarrassed to buy only one piece as I just wanted to try it. Bought gsc aeon bandaraya melaka some freshly popped oil-free prawn crackers too- they are made in almost the same the same way as popcorn by some special machine and tasted really good. Sunway Pyramid have a small indoor theme park for the kids- I spotted a painfully slow Ferris Wheel and a Bumper Car ride. They have an ice skating rink too, but it was very crowded due to the festive season.
I always wanted to catch a late night movie in Singapore, but the lack of transportation gsc aeon bandaraya melaka back home always makes this an impossible venture. Staying at a nearby hotel makes it possible, so I bought tickets gsc aeon bandaraya melaka for a 11.20pm screening of ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ at the cinema.I had dinner at TGIFridays prior to the movie, with its New York inspired decorations, and the lemon herb baked whitefish and chicken wrap with melted cheddar cheese was great comfort food. Back to the cinema. The sound system was surprisingly good and I enjoyed the action movie tremendously, despite not being a fan of that particular type of movie. The whole mall was empty when I came out of the theatre which was rather creepy, but the walkway to the hotel was easy to find and I soon got back to my comfortable room. Fiddled around with my Ipad for a while before deciding that it is time to sleep to prepare for the day ahead.
There was this sense of anticipation on the second day, as I was raring to go for the Paramore concert in the evening at Kuala Lumpur. I went down for the buffet breakfast rather late as it was almost impossible to wake up early, but the delicious spread of food woke me up from my groggy state. An egg omelette freshly prepared with mushrooms and cheese, some raspberry scones, a pile of mini pancakes straight from the pan with maple syrup…followed by a plate of assorted fruits, grilled sliced beef, steamed soy sauce fish, sauteed potato chunks and finally,
